About The LPBC

The Lipscomb Pitts Breakfast Club (LPBC) is a privately-funded catalyst for the Mid-South.  A team of partner businesses, comprised of some of the largest and most influential employers in the world to mid-size and smaller local firms, are combining forces and funds to host an array of media and more than 150 events each year to enrich and impact our community.

Since our establishment in 2005, the LPBC has served the community by bringing in national guest speakers with our Signature Breakfast Series, and hosting workshops, seminars, conferences, weekly executive lunches, and a variety of other events to provide valuable content and foster teamwork and collaboration among business, nonprofit, government, education, and faith leaders.  These events are underwritten by our corporate partners, so they are FREE for the community to attend.

The LPBC financially contributes to local nonprofits and provides turnkey opportunities for organizations and individuals to become more engaged in the community through volunteer days, action projects, nonprofit tours, and more. Recent examples include tutoring after school, mentoring, scrubbing graffiti off of buildings and bridges, washing the feet of over 3,000 kids and providing them with new shoes and socks, picking up over 90,000 pounds of trash from McKellar Lake and the Mississippi River, spearheading the Fallen Officer Memorial, creating and promoting a "Buy Local" Power of the Dollar Campaign, launching a civic pride effort called "Memphis Rocks," and hosting a Film Festival screening and telethon.

Overall, we interact with over 50,000 business and community leaders here in the Mid-South on a weekly basis. We've received international recognition for our innovative approach to corporate philanthropy, for creating a new template for how businesses can come together to make a collective impact, bring a city together and allow citizens to become more engaged for FREE, and, in the process, weave giving back into every event and effort.

Each Sunday we can be found in The Commercial Appeal with our "Giving Back" column. The column spotlights nonprofits and also offers helpful tips and creative ways to weave giving back into your normal life and business routine. You can find all of our past columns in our Media section.

Our LPBC Radio Show airs each Saturday from 5-6 PM and each Sunday from 9-10 AM on iHeartMedia's News Radio 600 WREC. The show features various business, nonprofit, education, faith, and government leaders, who discuss important efforts, projects, news, and trends. You can listen on AM 600, stream the show on 600wrec.com, or listen via the iHeartRadio app. You can listen online to our past shows in our Media section.

Our TV show, The SPARK, airs the third Friday of each month at 7:30p on WKNO-TV Channel 10. The 30 minute show focuses on positives from across the Mid-South and features organizations and individuals who are leading by example to ignite change. The show is produced in partnership with WKNO-TV. Major funding is provided by Lipscomb & Pitts Insurance, Data Facts, and Memphis Theological Seminary. Additional funding is provided by Christian Brothers University and Power & Tel.

Our two books, Giving Back with Purpose and Giving for Growth were both written by LPBC president, Jeremy C. Park and released by Main Street Books.  The books provide a road map to help readers create their own legacy of making a difference.  Proceeds from the books benefit youth literacy programs in the Mid-South.   The books are available online, as well as with select retailers, like The Booksellers at Laurelwood here in the Mid-South.

As you browse around our site, you will find information on our upcoming LPBC community events, upcoming nonprofit events (nonprofits can post their events for free) that are perfect for you, your family, and friends, and then tons and tons of inspirational stories and interviews, like with our GOODworks series and ChangeMakers podcasts. So, take a look around and we look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event soon and learning more about the ways you are making a SPARK in our community!
